Eaton Firefighter Cancer Screenings March 2025

We provided free skin cancer screenings to 135 firefighters and referred 21 for biopsy.

Cancer is the leading cause of death amongst firefighters. We’re here to change that statistic. 🔥

We’re proud to say our event was featured on ABC7 Los Angeles! They discussed event details and helped shine a spotlight on the brave firefighters who battled the Eaton fire. A highly destructive wildfire in Los Angeles County, Southern California.

The clip below features Caylie Valenta, co-founder and president of AVMF! Caylie discusses the importance of cancer screenings and why our local heroes need to be protected from the risk of occupational melanoma with a well-deserved free cancer screening!
